It's a challenge and they love nothing better than rising to it!
Are you one of those people? Do you relish working out how you're gonna get the change resistant to see a different way? What style's going to work …which tact to take…?
This role partners a mixed stakeholder group - some are creative but not commercial and need help being able to connect the two, and others are more maverick - the rules don't apply, they do things their way. There's so much to be done - building out the people plan, talent development, engagement, OD, management development, D&I… but they're gonna push.
So you can't fall over at the first 'no'. Instead you'll see it as a chance to pull out all those skills you have to influence, to gain trust, to work out a way in, to speak a language that help them understand another way.
You'll be part of a wider HR team, with an HRD who will not only have your back but make sure you are constantly being stretched and supported to be able to progress up the ranks quickly and successfully.
So if you've got a strong generalist background, have worked within a high change environment, and have the blend of seeing what good looks like in a large corporate, as well as adapting your craft in a smaller setting, then you will be well set up to excel in this role.
