When Sheila tired of lecturing in Biological Sciences and despaired at the prospect of her much loved discipline becoming a branch of mathematics she looked for a career change that would use her people skills and add a commercial edge. She founded Consult with Nigel Murray in 1989 and to quote her - "it has been absolutely brilliant". She continues to work alongside her colleagues operationally and her extensive network in HR recruitment and loves what she does.
You'd think that after witnessing the birth of the recruitment market place and establishing Consult along with Sheila, Nigel might be a bit bored with it by now. Well, not a bit of it. His long term view of the development of the HR Recruitment marketplace gives him an enviable knowledge base to draw on when working with his clients. The journey isn't over yet and he's looking forward to what comes next.
With over 25 years’ experience in specialist recruitment Paul brings significant insight of the market and its changes to support both clients and candidates in their respective searches. A belief in hard work, asking smart questions and listening has served him well in developing a superb track record and loyal following. He still gets a buzz from day to day recruitment, but when he is switching off from work you’ll find him being kept on his toes by his two teenagers, skiing (still his dream job!), playing table tennis or hill walking to name but a few.
With nearly two decade’s experience in recruitment and talent management, James specialises in Senior Hires and running volume recruitment campaigns. He is passionate about assessment and the impact recruitment processes have on the candidate experience and, ultimately, how organisations can gain a competitive advantage by how they approach their recruitment activities. Alongside running recruitment campaigns, James leads the assessment and talent consultancy activities for Consult-HR.
Recruitment is Emma’s absolute passion, she started a week after graduating with a BA Hons from the University of Winchester 20 years ago. And now, she loves it more than ever, starting each working day with the words ‘let’s change some lives’!
Emma has worked with a vast array of clients over the years, building a substantial network and rich recruitment expertise. She has a reputation for being a bit of a ‘unicorn hunter’, finding rare talent for niche roles, working every hour under the sun to source them. This is delivered in a completely honest and direct style, with a good dose of humour, energy and humanity thrown in.
Debbie has a proven track record of successfully working with business to achieve their recruitment objectives. Her calm, measured and independent stance allows her to focus objectively on the Job in hand. Debbie has a natural ability to engage with people at all levels to motivate and encourage them to achieve their full potential. Having worked in recruitment for over 12 years now her values are as strong today as they were all those years ago. Providing added value to both clients and candidates alike. She does this by scoping out their HR requirements and finding the best and most appropriate recruitment solution.
Rosie graduated in Business Management and then spent a year in Shell’s HR Department. She has over 15 years multi-sector experience spanning permanent and contract recruitment at Robert Walters and Morgan McKinley, In-House RPO at Capital Consulting - where she led all Talent Acquisition for Britvic PLC - and Executive Search at Leathwaite International and EM Group. Rosie has a strong consultative approach. She manages all levels of HR Recruitment and prides herself in building long term relationships with her candidates and clients alike.
Nikki studied Business Management at Alton College, Hampshire in 1986. She started her career as Conveyancing Secretary for a local firm of solicitors, a post she held for 9 years. She then moved on to another firm where she was Personal Assistant to the Senior Conveyancing Partner. Nikki managed all aspects of conveyancing throughout the department with a high level of responsibility. In 2006 she was approached by Consult-HR to join their team as a PA and is now supporting Sheila Griffiths, Emma Crichton and Rosie Jenkins.
Alan’s background is diverse and varied. Having started work in the car industry, he did a short spell in Oil & Gas and then a long spell in IT/software. He’s been a research engineer, a marketing manager a salesman/manager and MD of a Software company serving the pharmaceutical industry across Europe. He now looks after the financial and IT side of Consult-HR.
Belinda studied History with Archaeology at The University of Winchester, Hampshire, graduating in 1992. Belinda worked for Consult-HR full time as a PA for 3 years before becoming a mum in 2008. She now helps outs providing PA support covering holidays and sickness.
Vicki began her career as a Secretary with Deloitte-Touche. Subsequently, she held Personal Assistant positions to Board Directors in the Legal, IT, Fashion, Health and Engineering sectors. Her career then included a period of being Office/Finance Manager/PA of a Dutch Group subsidiary. Latterly, she became Financial Controller to a Business Management Consultancy whilst also working within Consult HR as a part-time Administrator.
Hannah began her career in recruitment in early 2015 after coming out of the hospitality industry where she learnt to have a keen eye for detail and presentation. She joins Consult-HR as PA to Nigel Murray, Paul Tanton, Debbie Blackwell and James Crichton to continue her career in a role where she can thrive, with a passion of going the extra mile and helping people.
